CameraMan is LightWave ® Layout tool that allows moving and rotating camera like in First Person Perspective/Shooter game - by pressing WSAD for moving forward/backward and strafe left/right, and arrow keys or mouse for rotating head left/right and up/down. This tool is more toy alike, but showed us great power behind it by allowing to make LightWave driver for Space/3D Navigator http://www.3dconnexion.com controller, even without NewTek help! To this moment we and other 3rd party developers thought it is impossible!
If you're 3rd party developer that wish to write Space Navigator driver please contact with us for more informations about license price (it will be with the full CameraMan source code, illustrating how to use this technology in practice).
After installing plugin in Layout you should use Edit Keyboard Layout and assign permanent short-cut for quickly activating/deactivating CameraMan generic tool. It must be different key than used by CameraMan, otherwise you won't be able to quickly deactivate it. LightWave functionality assigned to these keys during tool is active is completely intercepted and not available through keyboard, but quick pressing short-cut will allow use them again. You can use WSAD together with mouse when real LightWave tool is set to Modify > Rotate (press 'y'), like professional 3d game player.
Press Ctrl-Q to open Layout Master window, then double click on CameraMan to show tool options and you can adjust Step (used by WSAD for single movement) and Angle (used by arrow keys for single rotation). These settings are saved together with scene file. They should be adjusted to scale of entire scene, or part where you're moving camera (settings good for low-poly interior won't work good for hi-poly hi-scale exterior).

Windows XP ® has built-in ZIP support (simply right click on the archives icon, and choose Extract all files...).
On Macintosh ®, the archive is in the SIT format. You will need 3rd party software such as StuffIt, which you can download from http://www.stuffit.com (it's not included in the package), or compatible software to decompress the archive.
The LightWave ® plugin does not require files to be in specific locations, which is a very nice feature. But for easier file management it is recommended that the plugin files (i.e. those with .p extension) be copied to your LightWave ® plugins folder (f.e. LightWave\Plugins\).
Installing LightWave ® Layout Plugins
Run the LightWave ® Layout executable. Select pop-down menu Layout > Utilities ® Add Plugins..., then find the folder containing the new plugin files and select them.
